About

Jeremy Harrison retired from a 35-year art teaching career at the Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts in 2020. For two years after retirement he and his wife traveled between the hometowns of family members in the U.S and Spain, eventually settling in Austin, Texas. Prior to 2020, Harrison’s artwork consisted of painting, printmaking, drawing, and photography. The new mobile lifestyle directed his practice toward a stronger emphasis on photography. In a small temporary studio he put together a darkroom and constructed an enlarger using a 4x5 view camera. Recently Harrison has also been exploring the cyanotype process; contact printing negatives with sunlight. Driven by the joy he takes in learning, he hopes to merge analog photography with painting and printmaking.
